📍 Alanya Shipyard (Tersane)
Set right on the shoreline beneath Alanya's castle, the Tersane is the only surviving Seljuk-era shipyard in Turkey, built in 1228 under Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I. Its five vaulted galleries, known as 'eyes', open directly onto the Mediterranean, where galleys were once crafted and repaired for the Seljuk navy. Reached by a short, scenic coastal walk from the Red Tower or by boat, this rare medieval naval monument offers atmospheric stone arches, sea views and a tangible link to Alanya's days as a Mediterranean maritime power.
